Working from home is a dream come true for me. I started off just making a little extra and over the years I have been able to add more and more to my monthly income. I have a goal in mind so that my husband doesn’t have to work and can be the stay at home Dad. I recently have been able to add more income and get closer to that goal through a writing job. This job is something I can do anytime during the day or night. The more work I do, the more I get paid. Simple right? I started thinking about all of this and reaching my goals.
What if I could make enough with this one job? What if it worked out? That would be awesome. It would be amazing. All our dreams would have come true right?
Until that one day when I woke up ready to work to find out that job was over. That something happened and there was no longer any work for me to do. If this were to happen right now, I would be frustrated but we would be okay. My husband still has a full-time job. If it happened after he became a stay-at-home-dad…what would we do? Most of our income would be gone just like that.
This has happened to people before. I have heard stories of people making $10,000 a month using Google Adsense and wake up one morning to see they have been banned. All that monthly income is just gone. Just like that.
When you make your money on the Internet you need to have a plan. You need to have savings. You need to have different streams of income. You never know when things will change.
If you have three or four different income streams coming in, if one ends, you can still make it. You might be short some money but you won’t have to run out and find a full-time job right away.
The Internet can be a very up and down type of place. Get creative and find more than one method to make your money online.
I came across this list and it looks like it could be really helpful for finding jobs online. Don’t forget about Ebay and Mechanical Turk. Those two are not ideal for making a lot of money in the long run but they can fill in the gaps when you need a little extra.
The challenge for me is time. If I am spending all my time working on one job, how can I have time to work towards another? It is going to be a big balancing act for me.
What about you? Are you working on figuring out more than one way to make money online?
