Direct Sales companies have been around for quite a while. My Grandparents sold Amway and even had an Amway room in their house. I know many other friends and some family work in Direct Sales. You have make-up companies, candle companies, food and much more. You hear about new companies starting all the time. I started in Direct Sales about 16 months ago. I never thought I would be apart of a Direct Sales company because I could not see myself throwing a lot of parties. Add three kids into the mix with a husband who works a lot and I just didn’t think it would work for me.
On Twitter I met a girl who was selling Scentsy. She always had great Tweets and seemed pretty cool. I liked how she was able to use Twitter to help her business. I decided to sign up under her and decided to start selling Scentsy myself. I would not focus on home parties but on marketing myself online. Now 16 months later I am an Independent Scentsy Director and as of today an Independent Velata Director. You can visit my sites to find out more about these awesome products! I have a strong downline and although I have had a couple of parties and open houses most of my success is from being online. Not only have I met a lot of customers this way but I have also added about half my downline through online contacts. One of my girls does well using YouTube to find customers and has added some people to her downline that way.
I think the key to making money online with direct sales is making friends on Twitter, Facebook and through blogging or anywhere you are online. People will interact with you and if they want to buy the item you are selling, they will decide to buy from you. It is such a great way to network!
The hardest part about Direct Sales is that unlike having 100% your own business you do have to abide by regulations your company has about what you can and can not do online. They will be different for each Direct Sales company. You also will be competing with other people selling the exact same thing! This is why you need to become a real person when online. Talk about other things you like, talk about your life. I really think this works much better than only talking about your product.
How about you? Are you in Direct Sales? How do you do online with it?
